4-Day Uyuni Salt Flats Journey from La Paz
Travel overnight from La Paz to Uyuni before beginning a 3-day 4WD adventure through the Uyuni Salt Flats and Bolivian Altiplano. Discover colorful lagoons, volcanoes, deserts, geysers, hot springs, and remarkable Andean landscapes.
Day 1 – VIP Bus from La Paz to Uyuni
Check in at the bus office in La Paz at approximately 8:30 p.m. and depart at 9:00 p.m. Travel overnight with reclining seats, Starlink Wi-Fi, heating, onboard restroom, polar blanket, dinner, and breakfast. Meal options include chicken, vegetarian, and gluten-free.
Day 2 – Uyuni Salt Flats & Incahuasi Island
Arrive in Uyuni between approximately 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. Our staff will meet you and, depending on your arrival time, take you to a nearby café before continuing to our office for tour preparation.
Depart by 4WD at approximately 10:30 a.m. Visit the Train Cemetery and Colchani before entering the Uyuni Salt Flats. Explore the Saltwater Eyes, Playa Blanca, Salt Hotel Museum, Dakar Monument, and Flags of the World.
Continue to Incahuasi Island, enjoy creative perspective photos, and finish the day with a spectacular sunset accompanied by wine and snacks. Dinner and overnight in a traditional salt hostel.
Day 3 – Andean Lagoons & Red Lagoon
After breakfast, cross the Chiguana Desert and admire Ollagüe Volcano. Visit Cañapa, Hedionda, and Chiarcota Lagoons, where flamingos can often be observed.
Continue through the Siloli Desert, visit the famous Stone Tree, and reach the spectacular Red Lagoon inside the Eduardo Avaroa National Reserve. Dinner and overnight in Huayllajara or Polques.
Day 4 – Geysers, Hot Springs & Transfer to San Pedro de Atacama
Depart early to witness the impressive geothermal activity of the Sol de Mañana Geysers. Relax in the natural Polques Hot Springs before continuing through the spectacular Dalí Desert and visiting the Green and White Lagoons at the foot of the Licancabur Volcano.
After the final sightseeing stops, continue to Hito Cajón at the Bolivia–Chile border. Complete the required Bolivian exit and immigration procedures before crossing the border and changing to a shared transfer. Continue into Chile, complete the corresponding immigration and customs formalities, and travel through the Atacama Desert to San Pedro de Atacama, arriving at approximately 1:00 p.m. Chile time.
