Located in County Durham, Beamish Museum brings to life the North East of England’s Georgian, Edwardian, 1940s and 1950s history, through immersive exhibits where visitors meet friendly costumed staff and volunteers, and experience regional stories of everyday life.

From beautiful Georgian gardens to Edwardian shopping, delicious traditional fish and chips, exploring The 1940s Farm and getting a fabulous 1950s hairstyle, there’s something for everyone to enjoy during a visit to Beamish.

See the Georgian potters in The 1820s Landscape, grab a hard hat and see what working conditions were like for miners in The 1900s Pit Village, brave
a trip to the dentist and do a spot of Edwardian shopping in The 1900s Town, meet the Land Girls and Home Guard at The 1940s Farm, and take a trip
to the cinema in The 1950s Town.
