3-Day Tokyo to Kyoto Alps Tour:Shirakawa-go&Takayama&Magome Small Group & Guide

Travel from Tokyo to Kyoto through the Japanese Alps. Visit Matsumoto Castle, Takayama, UNESCO-listed Shirakawa-go, and the historic Nakasendo towns of Magome and Tsumago on small-group journey.
To accommodate different travel styles and group sizes, we offer three transportation options:

① Driver Only Tour (Maximum 8 Participants)
Enjoy the ultimate flexibility with a private vehicle exclusively for your group. Choose your preferred pickup location and travel at your own pace—ideal for families and small groups.

② Small Group Tour (Minimum 4 Participants)
Travel in a comfortable small group with a maximum of 8 guests. Enjoy a more personalized experience, greater flexibility, and complimentary hotel pickup within central Tokyo.

③ Coach Tour (Minimum 10 Participants)
Guaranteed departure with a minimum of 10 participants. Enjoy our spacious and comfortable coach option at a more economical price. Please note that hotel pickup and drop-off are not included. The meeting point is Shibuya Station – New South Exit.

④ Private Charter (Maxmum 10 Participants)
Unlike the shared group option, this is a private charter vehicle exclusively for your group. The price is charged per vehicle and can accommodate up to 8 passengers.

Day 1 – Tokyo → Mt. Fuji Scenic Break → Magome-juku → Takayama

Begin your journey with hotel pickup in central Tokyo and travel toward the stunning Japanese Alps. As we head west, our comfortable coach cruises along the scenic Chuo Expressway. About 75 minutes into the drive, we will make a special 15-minute quick-style pitstop at the hidden gem Hatsukari PA . Step out to the dedicated observation deck for a stunning, unobstructed panoramic view of Mt. Fuji towering over local Japanese villages—a perfect postcard photo opportunity! Visit Matsumoto Castle, one of Japan's few remaining original castles and a designated National Treasure. Explore the castle grounds and historic district before continuing through the scenic Hida region to Takayama, known as the "Little Kyoto of the Alps."

Day 2 – Takayama & Shirakawa-go

Explore Takayama's beautifully preserved Old Town, home to traditional merchant houses, sake breweries, and the lively morning market. Later, visit Shirakawa-go, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its iconic gassho-zukuri thatched-roof farmhouses. Take in panoramic village views, stroll through the historic streets, and experience one of Japan's most picturesque rural landscapes. Return to Takayama in the afternoon and enjoy a relaxing evening at your leisure.

Day 3 – Takayama → Kiso Valley → Kyoto

Travel through the historic Kiso Valley along the former Nakasendo Route. Visit the beautifully preserved post towns of Magome-juku and Tsumago-juku, where stone-paved streets and traditional wooden buildings recreate the atmosphere of Japan's Edo period. In the afternoon, continue to Kyoto, where the remainder of the day is free to explore Japan's ancient capital at your own pace.
