Visit Fuji Hongu Sengen Shrine, Okumiya. Climb Mt Fuji and stay at Goraikokan. View Goraiko, walk the Ohachimeguri Trail, visit Japan’s highest peak, Kengamine, and relax in yorari hot spring.
This 2-day Mount Fuji climbing experience follows the popular Yoshida Trail, combining cultural exploration, high-altitude trekking, a mountain hut stay, and a relaxing hot spring experience. The journey begins with a visit to Fujisan Hongu Sengen Taisha Okumiya, one of the most important shrines dedicated to Mount Fuji. Here, participants can pray for a safe ascent and immerse themselves in the spiritual traditions of Fuji worship, setting a meaningful tone for the climb ahead.

The ascent starts from the Mount Fuji 5th Station, the most accessible gateway to the mountain. Along the way, climbers will pass the historic Komitake Shrine, gradually transitioning from forested terrain to dramatic volcanic landscapes. The trail offers panoramic views above the clouds, with opportunities to experience seasonal alpine flora unique to Mount Fuji.

Climbers will stay overnight at Goraikokan, located at approximately the 8.5 station. This mountain hut provides a rare chance to rest at high altitude and prepare for the summit push. After a short rest and dinner, the climb resumes during the night in order to reach the summit in time for the breathtaking sunrise known as Goraiko. Watching the sun rise above the clouds from Mount Fuji is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and one of Japan’s most iconic natural spectacles.

Upon reaching the summit, participants will explore the volcanic crater and take part in the Ohachimeguri Trail, a scenic route circling the crater that offers ever-changing views of the rugged terrain. The journey continues to Kengamine Peak, the highest point in Japan at 3,776 meters, where climbers can commemorate their achievement with photos at the official summit marker.

During the summit exploration, there is also an opportunity to visit Kusushi Shrine, one of the highest shrines in Japan, where visitors can pray, collect stamps, or purchase a climbing certificate as a memorable keepsake.

After descending via the Yoshida route back to the 5th Station, the journey continues to the scenic Lake Kawaguchi area. Here, participants can relax in a traditional Japanese hot spring, soothing tired muscles while enjoying views of Mount Fuji. This relaxing onsen experience provides the perfect conclusion to an ակտիվ yet rewarding adventure before returning to Tokyo.
