Day 1 (Halfday): Chiang Rai
9.00-9.30AM. Begin your adventure with a hotel pickup and head to the White Temple, a dazzling masterpiece that blends contemporary art with spiritual essence. Continue to Wat Huay Pla Kang, known for its huge 90-meter-tall white Guan Yin statue and its cool 9-story Chinese-Lanna pagoda.
Next, visit Lalitta Café, a popular, fairy-tale forest cafe in Chiang Rai, known for its dreamy, misty rainforest vibes and huge man-made waterfalls. Continue to the Blue Temple, a striking creation by the talented students of the White Temple. The vibrant hues will leave you feeling like you’ve stepped into a real-life fairytale. Return to your hotel around 2:00 PM.
Day 2: Chiang Rai to Pak Beng
5.00-5.30AM Get picked up by a minivan from your hotel or a central spot in Chiang Rai. Cross the Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge No. 4 (Bokeo Province) by shuttle bus.
Start your boat trip to Pak Beng, soaking in the awesome views of Northern Thailand as the scenery shifts to the calm waters and green banks of the Mekong River. Arrive in Pak Beng (your stay isn't included). You can book a hotel and grab dinner at a riverside restaurant. You'll need to take all your stuff off the boat and bring it back tomorrow.
Day 3: Pak Beng to Luang Prabang
8.00AM. Continue your boat trip to Luang Prabang. Listen to the water and birds, letting yourself relax and think about the journey. If the boat's packed, we suggest getting there early to snag a seat.
4.00PM. Arrive at the slow boat terminal in Luang Prabang, where you can check out cool Buddhist temples and explore the town.
