Immerse yourself in one of Africa's most famous wildlife reserves. Situated on Tanzania's untamed western border, Gombe Stream National Park offers a distinctive safari experience, combining lush tropical rainforest with the pristine, turquoise waters of Lake Tanganyika.

This carefully curated expedition will take you straight to the heart of Dr. Jane Goodall’s legacy. Hike along narrow research trails to observe wild chimpanzees accustomed to human visitors, discover hidden forest waterfalls, and relax on pristine freshwater beaches.


Begin your adventure with a pickup from Kigoma Airport or your hotel in Kigoma, followed by a transfer to the harbor. From there, board a private speedboat for the journey across Lake Tanganyika to Gombe. After arriving at Kasekela Landing, complete park registration, meet your TANAPA ranger, check in to your accommodation, and enjoy lunch with a trek briefing.

In the afternoon, head into the lower canopy forest for your first chimpanzee trek. As evening falls, return to camp for time by the beach, dinner, and an overnight stay beside the lake.

On the second day, set out after breakfast for a longer rainforest trek to track the Kasekela chimpanzee community. Continue along the stream trail toward Kakombe Waterfall, then hike uphill to Jane’s Peak, where Dr. Jane Goodall carried out her pioneering observations. Return to camp for lunch and rest during the hottest part of the day.

Later, spend the evening on the water with one included activity, either kayaking along the shoreline or snorkeling among cichlids, depending on arrangements. Dinner is served back at camp, followed by another overnight stay.

On the final morning, enjoy breakfast before leaving for a third chimpanzee trek in the lower valley. You may also spot red colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, and baboons during the walk. Return to camp for lunch, pack your belongings, and check out. In the afternoon, board your private boat back to Kigoma and continue to your hotel, where the trip ends.
