Discover the breathtaking Climate Change Route on an excursion to Nevado Pastoruri, one of the most iconic natural settings in Huascarán National Park. This tour combines high-mountain landscapes, Andean biodiversity, and the opportunity to observe the effects of glacier retreat up close.

The adventure begins with a drive through the Callejón de Huaylas until you enter the high Andean landscapes of the Cordillera Blanca. Along the way, you'll make several stops to see some of the region's most iconic natural attractions.

You will visit the Patococha Lagoon, a habitat for Andean birds such as the Andean duck, as well as the natural springs of Pumapampa and Pumashimi, known for their unique characteristics and mineral hues. You'll also see the impressive stands of Puya Raimondii, the largest plant in the Andes and one of the most representative species of high Andean flora, as well as ancient cave paintings that show the presence of ancient cultures in the area.

The highlight of the tour will be your arrival at Nevado Pastoruri, where you'll take an approximately one-hour hike to reach the glacier. During the hike, you'll be able to appreciate this impressive ice landscape up close and learn how climate change has transformed one of the most accessible glaciers in Peru, making it an important place for environmental education and responsible tourism.

You'll have time to admire the surroundings, take photos, and take in the spectacular mountain scenery before heading back to Huaraz.

This excursion is ideal for those who want to experience the natural richness of Huascarán National Park while discovering one of the most representative examples of the impact of climate change in the Peruvian Andes.
