Ninh Binh: Vietnamese Language and Culture Experience

Learn Vietnamese through real-life situations in a local village. Visit a market, prepare a traditional meal, and explore the village to learn about rural life and culture.
Throughout the experience, share stories, exchange cultures, and connect with local people. This is not a classroom lesson, but a chance to experience Vietnamese language and rural life through real conversations and everyday activities.
The schedule can be adjusted to suit your arrival time and the day's activities.
Begin your experience with a warm welcome from your local host family in Son Cao, Gia Tuong Village. Get to know each other and enjoy a local breakfast, either at the host family's home or at a nearby local restaurant. Breakfast is included.

Instead of learning Vietnamese only in a classroom, practice the language in real-life situations. Walk around the village, meet local people, observe daily rural life, and use Vietnamese naturally as you explore.

Visit a small local pagoda near the host family's home and learn about Vietnamese culture. When possible, have a friendly conversation with a monk or caretaker.

Visit a local school during school hours, where you can meet students, help them practice English, and practice Vietnamese at the same time.

If your visit falls on a local market day, visit the market, practice Vietnamese with local vendors, and choose fresh ingredients for your meal. The market follows the Vietnamese lunar calendar, so this activity depends on the day of your experience.

Return to the host family's home to prepare and enjoy a traditional Vietnamese meal together. Learn useful words and phrases related to food, cooking, and everyday conversation. Lunch is not included in the experience fee.

Itinerary:

8:00–8:30 | Welcome, breakfast & Vietnamese greetings
Meet your host, enjoy a local breakfast and learn useful Vietnamese greetings.

8:30–9:30 | Village walk & local life
Explore the village, meet locals and practice Vietnamese through real conversations.

9:30–10:00 | Local pagoda
Visit a nearby pagoda and learn about local culture. When possible, chat with a monk or caretaker.

10:00–11:30 | Local school
Meet local students, help them practice English and practice Vietnamese with them.

11:30–12:00 | Local market (if available)
If it is a market day, practice Vietnamese with local sellers and choose fresh ingredients.

12:00–14:00 | Cooking, lunch & cultural exchange
Prepare and enjoy a traditional Vietnamese meal while learning useful words and sharing stories. Lunch is not included.

Transportation: Not included. Taxi or motorbike rental can be arranged at extra cost. Bicycles are free when available.
