Experience Korean Traditional Performance
How were honored guests welcomed in traditional Korean culture?
In that same spirit, we welcome just 30 guests up close, sharing heartfelt hospitality through music, dance, tea and sweets.
Over 100 years ago, this site was home to Gwangmudae, a theater for Korea’s traditional arts. Carrying on that history, Onggi Concert is an intimate salon performance that reinterprets Korean arts and hospitality for today.

WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL
This performance begins by bringing people and art closer together.
Instead of microphones and a grand stage, you meet the artists’ breath and movement just as they are.
Up close, artists and audience share expressions and breath, completing the performance together.
You don’t just watch; you become one more artist completing it.

WHY THIS EXPERIENCE IS UNIQUE
Humanscale Onggi Concert lets you meet art at a size you can naturally see, hear, and feel.

To make this possible, onggi (traditional Korean earthenware jars) become part of the sound. Instead of electronic amplification, their natural resonance fills the room with deep, rich traditional music.

HOW IT WORKS (ABOUT 2 HOURS)
1. Welcome (10 min)
Receive a welcome drink and an introduction to the show. Preview the instruments, hear about today’s pieces from your host, then the concert begins with a short opening act.
2. Performance (60 min)
Enjoy tea and sweets at your own table as you watch, with English commentary. Afterward, join a talk and photo time with the artists.
3. Experience (30 min)
Try the traditional instruments from the stage, then put on hanbok and take photos at the photo zone, copying moves from the performance.
