Meet your guide directly at Steeg-Gosau railway station, get fitted to your bike and begin your journey along the quieter shores of Lake Hallstatt. Away from the busiest tourist routes, enjoy peaceful stretches of cycling, mountain views and plenty of opportunities to stop for photos as the famous village of Hallstatt gradually comes into view across the water.
The journey is just as important as the destination. Along the way, hear stories about the lake and the people who have lived here, from prehistoric salt mining and the Hallstatt culture to life in this extraordinary Alpine landscape.
Ride through underrated Obertraun at the foot of the Dachstein mountains before continuing towards Hallstatt. Once in the village, slow things down and explore by bike and on foot, with time to take photos, look around or stop for a drink.
After experiencing Hallstatt, get back on the bike for the return journey. Depending on the group's ability, weather, traffic and local conditions, your guide will choose the most suitable route, with the possibility of completing the full scenic circuit around Lake Hallstatt.
This is a sightseeing experience by bike rather than a performance-focused cycling tour. Ride at a relaxed pace, enjoy the scenery and discover both world-famous Hallstatt and the quieter places beyond the crowds.

You should be comfortable riding a bicycle and have a reasonable basic level of fitness. No technical cycling skills are required.
The tour lasts approximately 3.5–4 hours and covers up to approximately 24 km with around 220 metres of elevation on the full route.
The exact route and timing may be adapted by your guide depending on group ability, weather, traffic and local conditions.
Meet your guide directly outside Steeg-Gosau railway station. Look for your guide with the bikes near the station entrance.
