Visit the Genocide sites of S21 Genocide Museum and Killing Fields in the morning. Then enjoy a lighter afternoon at nearby Ta Prum Temple and Tonle Bati (lake), taking a relaxed private boat cruise.
1. After morning pickup, the first stop will be to visit the Genocide Museum and learn about the more tragic side of Cambodian history. The now museum was formally a girls school that was transformed into a site for imprisonment, torture, and holding enclosure before victims were transported to the Killing Fields. Entry is $10 which includes an audio guide.

2. 35 minutes away is the Killing Fields, the second most historical site of the Khmer Rouge Genocide in Phnom Penh. Entry is $6 and includes an audio guide.

3. Lunch at own expense.

4. The afternoon commences with a 30 minute trip to reach Ta Phrom Temple. This lesser known temple complex is tucked away at a lakeside location near Phnom Penh. It features a square sandstone temple with 2 library buildings, and an outer enclosure with vaulted galleries and pavilions.

5. Very close by is Tonle Bati, a popular lake and picnic area with bamboo shacks on the edge of the water for picnicing.
Finish the day here with a relaxing boat ride out onto the lake for an hour before returning to Phnom Penh. Boat ticket - $15.
