Learn about the origins of pottery in Cape Verde, which is now an integral part of the culture and identity of the Cape Verdean people.
You will be picked up at your accommodation and then head inland to the island of Santiago.
Make your first photo stop in the municipality of São Domingos, continue your journey through the São Jorge region to Picos and admire the incredible views from the village viewpoint.
Upon arrival in Assomada, head to the community of Fonte Lima for a day of cultural immersion with the local women.
After a 10-minute drive, you will arrive at the Fonte Lima Ceramics Interpretation Center, where your guide will accompany you and explain the origins of pottery in Cape Verde, which is now an integral part of the culture and identity of the Cape Verdean people.
You will then have the opportunity to see and make a piece of pottery with clay, according to your imagination.
Finally, one of the most eagerly awaited moments of the day arrives: the preparation of a typical local couscous, made with corn flour and steamed in our famous ceramic couscous pot (Bindi).
Taste one of the most admired dishes of the Cape Verdeans and marvel at its unique and authentic flavor.
