Begin with a hotel pickup and a scenic drive through the eastern plains towards Las Cañitas de Miches. Board a boat at Las Cañitas dock and embark on a 2.5-hour whale-watching excursion in the hallowed waters of the Samaná Marine Mammal Sanctuary, where majestic humpback whales come annually to breed and rear their calves.
After the whale-watching, continue to the idyllic island of Cayo Levantado (also known as “Bacardi Island”), where you’ll enjoy a buffet lunch served on the island and have some free time to relax on the white-sand beach and swim in the clear Caribbean waters.
Following lunch, return by boat to the Samaná pier where a safari truck takes you on a forested ride for approximately 30 minutes, along the river banks and through virgin forest, culminating in a visit to the impressive El Limón Waterfall (over 60 meters high), where you can enjoy a refreshing dip in its pool.
