Embark on a captivating half-day e-bike journey from Bordeaux through the picturesque Entre-deux-Mers region. Begin your adventure in Bordeaux and follow the historic Roger Lapébie cycle path, which traces an old railway line, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. This route covers approximately 40 kilometers round trip, making it an easy ride, mostly flat, and utilizing cycling paths for 80% of the journey.
As you pedal along, immerse yourself in the rich history and charm of the area, exploring vineyards, medieval towns, and architectural gems. Your journey reaches Créon, the bastide town of English origin, once the seat of the great Royal Provostship of Entre-deux-Mers.
Despite its historical significance, this town has retained its vibrant commercial spirit, boasting renowned markets and fairs. Labeled as a bike station, it offers a remarkable network of cycle paths, perfect for exploring its quaint streets and scenic surroundings.
Entre-deux-Mers, nestled at the gates of Bordeaux between the Dordogne and Garonne rivers, captivates with the serene beauty of its landscapes. Its undulating terrain reveals a small galaxy of charming towns, surrounded by myriad vineyards, castles, rural buildings, and belvederes. Among these treasures are the bastides, medieval towns with checkerboard layouts and arcades, adding to the region’s allure.
Entre-deux-Mers is renowned for its wine tradition, boasting twelve controlled designations of origin. Upon arriving in Créon, enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, savoring the flavors of the regional cuisine.
