For a first visit, we suggest an overview of the main sites and monuments: Capitole Square, Saint-Sernin Basilica, the banks of the Garonne River, and the Jacobins Convent.
Guided visit on foot, in Spanish.
The itinerary starts at the tourist office, a former keep, and takes you to the Place du Capitole, the center of Toulouse with its town hall and theater of the same name. Following the Rue de Taur and its turbulent history, you will approach the Basilica of Saint-Sernin, an imposing Romanesque building located on the Way of St. James.
The tour continues to the Jacobins convent, founded by the Dominicans, an emblematic example of southern Gothic architecture. Through the narrow streets of the city, you will reach the banks of the Garonne River: enjoy one of the best views of the pink city! Brick facades, majestic buildings, and a relaxed atmosphere in one of the busiest walking areas.
