Discover Strasbourg's Gothic masterpiece with a knowledgeable local guide — stained glass, sculpted portals, and the astronomical clock.
Strasbourg Cathedral has dominated the city's skyline since the Middle Ages, and its facade and interior hold centuries of history in stone and glass. On this one-hour walking tour, a local guide leads you through the cathedral's nave, chapels, and iconic features, explaining the symbolism behind the carvings, the engineering behind its soaring vault, and the stories tied to the astronomical clock.
You'll see the west facade's rose window and sculpted portals, walk the length of the nave beneath ribbed Gothic vaulting, and stop at the Pillar of Angels and the astronomical clock, a Renaissance mechanism rebuilt in the 19th century. Your guide will point out details easy to miss on a self-guided visit and place the cathedral in the context of Strasbourg's history.
