Explore Armenia on a day trip from Tbilisi. Visit Akhtala, Haghpat and Odzun Monasteries and enjoy a photo stop at an abandoned copper factory.
Begin your journey in Tbilisi and drive to the Armenian border. After the procedures at the border, we set off to explore.

Make your first stop at Akhtala Monastery, known for its beautiful frescoes and rich history. Wander through the medieval walls and admire the breathtaking murals.

Next, have some free time for lunch. Savor the true flavors of Armenia. Continue to Haghpat Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site dating back to the 10th century.

Discover the Khachkars, crosses carved on stone, which are an inseparable part of Armenian religious culture. Haghpat Monastery holds quite a large collection of them, including one very rare piece.

After a short drive, reach Alaverdi for a photo stop at the abandoned copper factory, a historic industrial site. Enjoy the beautiful Debed Gorge before heading to your next stop.

Visit Odzun Monastery. Located in the village sharing the same name, Odzun church and its humble surroundings fill you with calmness and a sense of timelessness.
Drive to the church on a serpentine road, overlooking the scenic landscapes of Debed Canyon. Once at the church, enjoy its pristine atmosphere, wander around the old gravestones, and discover beautiful two-arched memorial stelae. Feel the divine energy among its walls and hear the stories and legends of Odzun, promising to leave a lasting impression.

As the day comes to an end, head back to the border and return to Tbilisi.
