Meet your local guide next to the beating heart of Cologne, the Kölner Dom, our cathedral and the most visited tourist attraction in Germany for good reason! From here, we'll dive into the history of Cologne's foundation and culture as we wander the roads of Ancient Rome and the culture the old Italian inhabitants we still claim as our own.
Walk the Rhein from our famous Love-Lock Bridge to the Old Fish Market and learn about Cologne's past as a welcoming city for foreigners, traders and some of the evils they brought with them. We won't dwell too long in the dark side of the city as we of course can't let you leave Cologne without a crisp, refreshing Kölsch from a local brewery or Kiosk. We'll give you a brief history of our locally adored brew before heading into the Old Towns winding and secret laden streets.
With stories about Karneval and music, ancient rivalries and strange symbols dotting our old market places, you'll hear about moon landings, puppet shows and stranges obscenities hidden to most. Then we'll return slowly to the Cathedral where we'll end with the history of our most treasured monument and the soul of our city. Here, you'll learn about the past of the Cathedral and what it means for our city today.
As we end the tour, you'll recieve our long list of half-day itineraries, recommendations and tips on how to further enjoy Cologne like a local!

Make sure to wear weather appropriate clothing as the weather changes quickly in Cologne. Prepare to be outdoors most of the tour and wear comfortable shoes for the Old Town's cobbled streets.
You'll find your guide in front of the Cathedral near a large piece of the church across from Cologne's Tourism Office. They will be wearing a Freewalk Cologne backpack and a nametag!
