Departing before midnight, hike under a canopy of stars to reach the crater rim before dawn, where you’ll encounter a surreal display of blue flames, visible only in the darkness. As daylight breaks, the spectacle transforms into a panoramic view of the world’s largest acidic crater lake, glowing in hues of turquoise and green, surrounded by rugged volcanic cliffs.
