This food tasting tour takes you to the heart of Israel's most modern city, Tel Aviv, exploring the vibrant stalls of its largest open-air market called the Carmel Market (also known as Shuk HaCarmel in Hebrew). The food here is heavily influenced by the Jewish people who came from Yemen.
Walk through the narrow streets of the market and learn about the historic Yemenite quarter.Discover how Israeli cuisine developed throughout the country's history.
The tour stops at vendors that have operated in the markets for generations. Some of these vendors date back over 100 years, predating the formation of Israel.
Over the course of the the tour, you will have the opportunity to: savor flavorful Yemenite dishes like a traditional malawach sandwich (hummus, salad, egg, tahini & malawach) as well shredded beef in pita; taste some of the freshest falafel; and enjoy some delectable Middle Eastern style desserts.
