Feel the ground shake as two 150kg wrestlers collide in a shower of salt and sweat. Join an authentic Morning Practice (asageiko) at a real sumo stable in Japan — the same training sessions wrestlers have followed for centuries, held behind doors rarely opened to outsiders.

With a local English-speaking guide by your side, you'll watch professional wrestlers move through their daily Morning Practice up close: the stretching, the sumo-specific footwork drills, and the intense butsukari-geiko sparring that builds their strength and technique. Your guide will help you read the rituals and atmosphere of the room — what to notice, what it means, and why it matters in sumo culture.

Before entering the stable, your guide will walk you through the etiquette for observing Morning Practice — this is a real, active training environment, not a performance staged for visitors. Once inside, guests are simply asked to stay quiet and observe respectfully, following the guide's and stable staff's lead, so as not to disturb the wrestlers.

Depending on the stable and schedule, some visits may also include time to learn more about sumo culture or interact with the wrestlers after Morning Practice.

Availability depends on the sumo tournament calendar and each stable's schedule:

Tokyo: September 2026 – December 2027 (excluding regional touring periods)
Fukuoka: October 27 – November 22, 2026
Osaka: March 1 – March 28, 2027
Nagoya: June 27 – July 25, 2027
Fukuoka: November 1 – November 28, 2027

Dates are estimates and may shift with the sumo calendar. After you submit a booking request, we'll confirm availability directly with the stable before finalizing your visit.
