Next, you will head to Mexico's most important sanctuary: the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This is the site where, according to tradition, the Virgin appeared to San Juan Diego. Here, you can admire both the old and the new basilica, and see the tilma (cloak) of St. Juan Diego, one of the most venerated relics in the country. On your way to Teotihuacan, you will stop at an obsidian workshop, where you will learn about this volcanic stone that was essential to the inhabitants of Teotihuacan. Walk along the majestic Avenue of the Dead, climb the 243 steps of the Pyramid of the Sun and marvel at the jade and obsidian decorations on the Pyramid of the Moon.
