Banyuwangi: Ijen Blue Fire and Sunrise Volcano Tour

Start the tour from your requested pick-up location around Banyuwangi, and transfer to Ijen’s base camp named Paltuding. Upon arrival, take a coffee break and make preparations for the Ijen excursion.

Lead by a local tour guide, start the journey from Paltuding at an altitude of 1800 meters above sea level. Hike up through sandy tracks for about 3.5 kilometers within around 500 meters elevation gap for the base camp to the summit.

Reach the summit after 1-2 hours of trekking, and have a chance to observe the infamous Ijen’s Blue fire. To get a better sight of the blue fire, walk down the crater’s rim to reach the bottom of the crater’s pit.

After observing the blue fire, take an extra trip to reach the summit. Catch the best view of the very first sunrise at Java island. After dawn, take your time at the summit, enjoying the mesmerizing view of Ijen and surroundings.

On top of that, enjoy the view of the world’s largest acidic lake, lies at the bottom of the crater, filled with a glowing turquoise colored water, and circled by staggering crater’s barrier.

Right after you feel enough with the stunning view of Ijen, be led back to the base camp to get back to the car. While walking, see a very beautiful view of mountains around Ijen. Soon after arriving at the base camp, drive back to the city and be taken to the place where you are staying.
