The Manaslu Circuit Trek is one of Nepal’s most awe-inspiring and remote trekking experiences, offering the perfect blend of natural beauty, cultural depth, and physical challenge. Circling the majestic Mount Manaslu (8,163m), the eighth-highest mountain in the world this trek presents an exceptional opportunity to explore a less-traveled Himalayan region that remains beautifully untouched by modernization and mass tourism.

Spanning approximately 177 kilometers, the Manaslu Circuit Trek leads you through a diverse range of landscapes from low lying sub-tropical forests and rice terraces to alpine meadows and towering glacial valleys. The route ascends steadily through deep gorges carved by the Budi Gandaki River, flanked by steep cliffs and cascading waterfalls, before reaching the high Himalayan zone where the scenery becomes stark, snowy, and majestic.

The dramatic highlight of the trek is crossing the Larkya La Pass (5,160m) a breathtaking and challenging high mountain pass that rewards trekkers with panoramic views of Himalayan giants such as Manaslu, Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kang Guru, and Annapurna II.


Itinerary
Day 1 - Drive from Kathamndu to Machha Khola (apx. 9-10 hrs) by buss, Alt. 870m.
Day 2 - Trek from Machhakhola to Jagat (6-7 hrs), 1 Alt. 340m.
Day 3 - Trek from Jagat to Deng (apx. 5-6 hrs), Alt. 1860m.
Day 4- Trek from Deng to Namrung (6-7 hrs), Alt. 2630m.
Day 5- Trek fro m Namrung to Samagaun (6-7 hrs), Alt 3530m.
Day 6- Acclimatization Day in Samagaun , Alt. 3530m.
Day 7 - Trek from Samagaun to Samdo , Alt. 3875m.
Day 8 - Trek from Samdo to Dharmasala, Alt. 4460m.
Day 9- Trek Over Larke La Pass (5160m) and Bimthang (8-9 hrs) 3720m.
Day 10- Trek to Tilije (5-6 hrs), Alt. 2300m.
Day 11 - Trek from Tilije to Jagat (5-6 hrs), Alt. 1300m.
(Note : You’ll spend the night in a different part of Jagat than the one visited earlier in our 3rd day )
Day 12- Drive from Jagat to Kathmandu, (8-9 hrs), Alt. 1400m.

Restricted Area Permits Are Mandatory
You need the following permits:
• Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (MRAP)
• Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP)
• Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
You must trek with a licensed guide and a group of at least two people.
2. Guide and Agency Are Required
Independent trekking is not allowed. You must book through a registered trekking agency with a certified guide.
3. Connectivity Is Limited
Wi-Fi and phone signals are patchy, especially beyond Namrung. Carry a Ncell SIM card, but don’t rely on it fully.
4. Cash Is King
There are no ATMs along the trail after Arughat/Soti Khola. Withdraw enough cash in Kathmandu or Pokhara.
5. Altitude Awareness Is Crucial
The trail crosses Larkya La Pass (5,160m). Proper acclimatization days in Sama Gaun or Samdo are essential to prevent AMS (Acute Mountain Sickness).
6. Basic Teahouse Accommodation
Lodges are simple but adequate. Don’t expect luxury, carry a sleeping bag.
