Ramaroshan, located in the Achham district of the Far-Western region of Nepal, is beautiful area known for its cool enviroment, cultural heritage, and biodiversity. Ramaroshan comprises a series of lakes and lush grasslands, often referred to as the “40 Lakes” area.
This hidden gem lies at an altitude of about 2,500 meters, offering views of the Api and Saipal Himalayan ranges, and providing diverse habitats for various species of flora and fauna.

Wildlife in Ramaroshan
Birds: Ramaroshan is home to a diverse range of bird species, many of which are native to the Himalayan region. Some commonly sighted birds include:

Himalayan Monal (Danphe) – The national bird of Nepal, known for its striking plumage, is frequently found in the higher altitudes.
Blood Pheasant – Recognizable by its reddish streaks and distinctive call, it is often seen in the dense forest areas.
Spiny Babbler – A unique bird found only in Nepal, the Spiny Babbler can be spotted in the grasslands and forests around Ramaroshan.
Kalij Pheasant – Found in the subtropical forests, this pheasant is common in the region and easily recognizable with its glossy plumage.
Himalayan Griffon – This large vulture plays an essential role in the ecosystem and is often seen soaring in the skies.
The area is a bird-watcher's paradise, particularly during the spring and fall migration periods, when various migratory species also pass through.

Mammals: The dense forests and grasslands of Ramaroshan support a range of mammals, from small herbivores to larger predators.

Himalayan Black Bear – Known for its adaptability, the Himalayan black bear inhabits the forested areas of Ramaroshan and is sometimes seen foraging.
Leopard – A stealthy predator, leopards roam the forests of Ramaroshan, but they are elusive and challenging to spot.
Barking Deer – This small deer species, named for its dog-like bark, is common in the forest areas.
Musk Deer – Known for its unique scent gland, the musk deer is a rare and protected species in Nepal.
Red Panda – Although rare, the red panda inhabits some forested regions of Ramaroshan, where it relies on bamboo as a primary food source.

Day 1: Kathmandu to Dhangadhi
Start with a flight from Kathmandu to Dhangadhi (1.5 hours).

Day 2: Dhangadhi to Sanfebagar
Drive from Dhangadhi to Sanfebagar, a small town near Ramaroshan (6-7 hours).

Day 3: Sanfebagar to Ramaroshan
Drive to Ramaroshan Lake areas(3-4 hours). Discover Ramaroshan’s clear natural lakes, Fresh cold air and full greenery. Get ready for Hike around Ramaroshan areas in Fresh enviroment of Ramaroshan. Stay in a local homestay.

Day 4: Explore Ramaroshan

Day 5: Return to Kathmandu
Drive back to Dhangadhi, followed by a flight to Kathmandu.
