Explore the Amazon rainforest from Puerto Maldonado on a 6-day adventure. Visit Sandoval Lake, discover the rainforest, see the parrot clay lick, and enjoy activities such as ziplining and kayaking.
Day 1 – Puerto Maldonado, Amazon Lodge & Monkey Island
Arrive in Puerto Maldonado and meet your transfer at the airport or bus station. Complete the registration and travel by boat for approximately 1 hour along the Madre de Dios River to the Amazon lodge. After lunch, visit Monkey Island and explore the surrounding rainforest. At night, take a boat excursion along the river before returning to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2 – Sandoval Lake & Night Jungle Walk
After breakfast, walk approximately 3 km through the rainforest to Sandoval Lake, located within the Tambopata National Reserve. Explore the lake by rowing boat and enjoy the surrounding landscape and natural environment of the Amazon rainforest. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the evening, take a guided night walk to discover the sights, sounds and atmosphere of the rainforest after dark.
Day 3 – Canopy Walk, Zipline, Kayaking & Fishing
Start early with a walk across the Canopy Walk-Way, about 30 meters above the ground, offering panoramic views of the rainforest and Madre de Dios River. After breakfast, enjoy a zipline adventure through the treetops with a safety briefing and the necessary equipment. After lunch, cross the river by kayak and enjoy the sunset before trying traditional fishing in the Madre de Dios River.
Day 4 – Parrot Clay Lick & Indigenous Community
Take an early morning boat trip to a parrot clay lick, where different species of parrots gather to feed on mineral-rich clay. Return to the lodge for breakfast. After lunch, visit a local Indigenous family and learn about their traditions, daily activities and connection with the Amazon rainforest. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 5 – Rainforest Exploration & Lodge Activities
After breakfast, take a guided walk through the rainforest surrounding the lodge to discover the Amazon landscape, tropical vegetation and natural environment. Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy free time to relax and use the lodge facilities or take part in available lodge activities. In the evening, enjoy dinner and spend your final night in the Amazon.
Day 6 – Return to Puerto Maldonado
Enjoy breakfast at the lodge before taking the boat back to Puerto Maldonado. Upon arrival, transfer to the airport or bus station for your departure.

The entrance fee to Tambopata National Reserve is not included and costs USD 20 per person, payable separately.
