Explore the Colca Canyon on a full-day excursion, enjoy the Andean landscapes, flora and fauna such as Alpacas, llamas and vicuñas and appreciate the wonderful flight of the Condor.
DETAILED ITINERARY
03:00am to 03:30am – Pick up from hotels in the center of Arequipa.
03:30am – Departure from Arequipa to Chivay.
After 03 hours of travel we will arrive at the town of Chivay where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast.
After breakfast we will move to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, which is 30 minutes away, it is the observation point of the Colca Canyon and the spectacular flight of the Condor. At this point we will be an average of 45 minutes to be able to observe the beauty of the Colca Canyon.
On the way back we will stop at the area's viewpoints such as the Antahuilque viewpoint and the Choqurtico viewpoint, from where we will observe the impressive terraces of the Valley and in the town of Maca, where we will see its church and optionally taste local drinks such as the Colca Sour, made from Sancayo, a local product.
Before lunch we will enjoy a relaxing bath in the Chacapi Hot Springs in the town of Yanque (optional entrance fee of 15 soles) whose thermal medicinal waters range between 35º C to 38º C in temperature in the pools.
12:30pm - Lunch in Chivay.
We begin our return journey towards Arequipa and during the journey we will stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, which is also the highest area of the road (4800 masl) from where we will appreciate a large part of the western mountain range. Then we will make a short stop at the Bofedales de Toccra where we will see a large number of Alpacas grazing freely in the area.
Bordering the Chachani snow-capped mountain towards Pampa Cañahuas we will pass by the home of vicuñas which live freely in this area.
Approximately at 5:30 pm – We will arrive at the city of Arequipa and we will leave you very close to the main square.
