Admire the incredible landscapes and fascinating wildlife of Peru during this 3-day trip from Arequipa to Puno through the Colca Canyon.
Day 1: Arequipa – Chivay At 7:30 am, you will be picked up from your hotel in downtown Arequipa. We will begin the tour heading northeast until we reach Pampa Cañahuas (Aguada Blanca and Salinas National Reserve), habitat of beautiful South American camelids such as vicuñas and guanacos. In the Bofedales de Tojra, we will be able to see a variety of migratory birds, including flamingos, Andean gulls, wild ducks, and others. Continuing on our journey, we will arrive at the Mirador de los Volcanes, the highest point on the road (4,800 meters above sea level), from where we will be able to see much of the Western Cordillera. Arrival in Chivay at approximately 1:30 p.m., where we will have lunch in the town (lunch not included). After settling into our accommodations, we will visit the popular hot springs of La Calera, ideal for a relaxing bath, then return to our accommodations.
Day 2: Cruz del Condor Viewpoint – Bus to Puno 7:00 a.m. After breakfast, you will be picked up from your hotel and depart for the natural viewpoint known as La Cruz del Cóndor. Through our local guide, we will learn many things about the different indigenous groups that inhabited and still inhabit the Colca Valley. Then we will arrive at the famous Cruz del Cóndor, where we will have an hour to admire the natural beauty that the canyon offers and also to observe the flight of the condor. Later we will begin our return trip to Chivay, making a last stop for lunch and to pick up your luggage from the hotel, then departing for Puno at 1:15 p.m. We will depart by tourist bus from Chivay to Puno, during which you will be able to observe the beautiful landscapes that this valley has to offer. We will arrive in Puno at 7:00 p.m. and you will be taken to your hotel so you can rest. Day 3: Navigation on one of the highest navigable lakes in the world, Titicaca-Floating Islands of the Uros and Taquile
We will depart at 7:30 a.m. from your hotel and travel by private transportation to the main port. At 7:45 a.m., we will begin our journey to the floating islands of the Uros, currently considered a National Reserve of Lake Titicaca. During the trip, you will be able to enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the landscape. Our specialized tour guide will show you the floating islands of the Uros. Our next visit will be the natural island of TAQUILE. To get there, we will sail by boat for approximately 2 hours. During the trip, we will be able to see the Cordillera Real mountain range. Not only that, but the people of Taquile are very helpful and well organized. Finally, our tour guide will inform you of the return time, arriving at 5:00 p.m. in the city of Puno. At the appointed time, you will be taken to the Juliaca airport or bus station so that you can depart for your next destination. End of tour.
