On the way to the island of Taquile, we visit the floating islands of the Uros. Taquile is a natural island privileged by nature, which is located 35 km from the city of Puno.

Departures to the Floating Islands.The floating islands of the Uros are a set of artificial habitable surfaces built of totora , an aquatic plant that grows on the surface of Lake Titicaca . The islands rise on a portion of the surface of Lake Titicaca, superimposed on blocks of totora roots on which successive layers of woven or intertwined totora are laid in mats. Its inhabitants, the Uros , are an ancestral people who are currently concentrated on the Collao plateau and in Peru on the floating islands located in the bay of Puno
