Receive hiking instructions from your guide and set off on a 5.8-kilometer (3.6-mile) trail to Pico Ruivo, Madeira’s highest peak. Adventure yourself with the famous walk up to the highest mountain, taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and, if the weather is clear, the coastal cities of Porto da Cruz, Santana, and Faial.
Reach the summit of Pico Ruivo, standing at 1,861 meters (6,106 feet), and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views. After taking in the scenery, begin your descent back to Achada do Teixeira.
Once you’ve completed the hike, relax on the return journey to your accommodation.
