Explore the Appenzell region on a day trip from Zurich. Take a cable car to the top of Ebenalp Mountain, walk through a cave, and enjoy a meal at a restaurant perched on the edge of a cliff. Visit the beautiful Seealpsee Lake, and tour a local cheese factory.
Begin your day with pickup from your hotel in Zurich and drive to the Appenzell Mountains in a comfortable air-conditioned van. Take a cable car to the top of Ebenalp Mountain. Walk through a cave on the edge of the mountain and continue around a chapel to a restaurant hanging on the rock.
Enjoy a meal at the restaurant before continuing by foot to the beautiful Seealpsee Lake, which is surrounded by the Alps and sits under the highest mountain in the Appenzell region, Santis. After a walk around the lake, continue back to the car, passing waterfalls in the forest.
Once you reach the car, take a short ride to a local cheese factory for a tour. After the tour, be taken back to Zurich.
