After approximately an-hour-drive, you will arrive at your first stop, Jerez de la Frontera. The city is famous for its Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art where spectacular horses are put on every Thursday at noon. Wander around the historical center and admire the Alcázar of Jerez, an impressive construction with strong walls and defensive towers housing two exhibitions about the city’s heritage. An attraction of equal beauty is Jerez de la Frontera Cathedral combining different architectural styles, Gothic, Baroque and Neoclassical.

Back on the road again for about 30 minutes to reach the quaint port city of Cádiz. A rather underrated destination, Cádiz is a seaside dream rich with history and gastronomic experiences. To truly soak up the magic of the city, explore its oldest neighborhood, El Pópulo. The barrio, as it is called in Spanish, is known for its narrow cobblestones alleys filled with shops, restaurants and tapas bars. In Plaza de la Catedral you will marvel at the imposing Cádiz Cathedral, an immense construction best appreciated from seafront Campo del Sur in the evening sun.

Another authentic, vibrant district La Viña is not to be missed. For many, it is considered the heart of Cádiz as it is packed with tapas bars, restaurants serving excellent fish and bars for a late drink. For extraordinary views of the city, climb to the top of the Torre Tavira, the official watchtower out of the 100 spread around the city. If the weather permits it you can take a stroll down Caleta beach and enjoy the golden sun and the sea breeze.
