Begin your tour in Granada, where you'll meet your guide and go on a short drive to reach the town of Monachil. Just beyond the town hall, park and set out on your hike. Walk along the Monachil River until you reach the limestone gorge.
Continue along the path and cross several hanging bridges over the gorge. Look down the gorge to catch glimpses of the challenging climbing areas frequented by the "Cahorros school." Venture further upriver as you climb steps and use anchored iron bars for a handrail.
Next, enter the Palomas tunnel, created by large stone blocks embedded in the narrow part of the gorge. As you reach the other side, enjoy the fresh scent of pine forest that surrounds you. Then, admire the breathtaking views of the peaks of Cerro Huenes, "Los Pollos," and "Cerrajón."
Follow your guide along a suspension bridge to begin your return journey. Before you reach Monachil, pause along the riverbank for panoramic views of Los Cahorros and a summertime swim. Once you've arrived in town again, enjoy a relaxing ride back to Granada to complete your tour.
