Key West is a guaranteed change of scenery in the land of Uncle Sam. This city of 30,000 inhabitants is one of a kind! A small town with a Caribbean ambience, but also firmly rooted in US culture, Key West has its own very relaxed, happy and festive atmosphere.
The city's beaches, bars and restaurants, its colorful colonial-style houses - we're in the USA, but we're also in the Caribbean!
Key West is the most southerly island in the USA, just 140 kilometers from Cuba, and has plenty of surprises in store for visitors.
Meet us at the address of your choice: we'll pick you up directly at the address you give us, serving Downtown Miami and Miami Beach as far as Mid-Beach. We'll also drop you off at the address of your choice.
Route to Key West: a world-famous route and an ode to travel in its own right, the Overseas Highway connects all the islands: Key Largo Islamorada, Marathon and the Middle and Lower Keys. And, of course, Key West is the grand finale. Not to mention the countless uninhabited islands set in turquoise waters.
Arrival in Key West
Duval Street, of course! Key West's lively main street offers a plethora of lunch spots and bars, but it's also known for its art galleries and colorful colonial houses.
Ernest Hemingway's house: the most famous house in Key West, so much did its illustrious (former) owner imbue the Keys, and Key West in particular, with his presence.
One of the first houses in Key West, the famous author lived here from 1931 to 1940, writing much of his work in this vast residence. It was here that he also ended his days.
This visit is a journey to the heart of the author's intimacy.
Southernmost Point: The southernmost point of the United States and the closest to Cuba, a compulsory photo stop, it's a big beacon painted and erected in 1983 in place of a simple sign, the corner is pretty nice and also offers a nice view.
Discover the beaches: There's no shortage of heavenly beaches in Key West, bathed in turquoise water and no match for the beaches of the Caribbean islands further south. Smathers Beach and Higgs Beach are perfect places to cool off.
City museums: Key West is home to a number of interesting museums, mainly located on Duval Street. The Key West Museum of Art & History is a small museum focusing on Key West's history, art and architecture. The Key West Shipwreck Museum retraces the naval history of Key West, its economic development having taken place by sea, but you'll also discover the story of the ships that wrecked off the coast of Key West.
After a day with a change of scenery, return to Miami in the early evening.
