Start your day with a pick-up from your hotel in Moshi. Drive to the Materuni Village, located 20-30 minutes from Moshi. Begin your hike to the Materuni Waterfalls, a 30-minute walk from the village.

Along the way, encounter several smaller waterfalls and numerous waterways that form part of the local irrigation system utilized by farmers cultivating coffee, bananas, and a variety of other fruits and vegetables.

At the waterfall, take a refreshing dip in the cool and crystal-clear water. Afterward, break for lunch before doing a short tour of Materuni village to see the typical life of the Chagga tribe.

Learn about the process from which coffee is grown, to when it is finally poured, steaming hot into the cup. Pick your own coffee, remove the cover, and then with coffee that has been previously dried out, crush it into coffee granules.

After experiencing the complete coffee production process, enjoy your very own, satisfying and rewarding cup of fresh coffee. Learn how the Chagga tribe lives, such as their home set-up, the types of food they cook and eat, and how they rear their animals.
