Experience a day discovering the volcano Vesuvius, one of the still active volcanoes in Europe, a journey between history and nature, walking track of the great cono.
The Vesuvius is one of the most studied and well-known volcanoes in the world. A symbol of Naples with its unique shape, it has a typical frusto-conical shape, with its highest peak reaching 1,277 metres. The crater currently has a diameter of 450 metres and a depth of 300 metres.
The day will continue with a visit to the city of Pompeii, once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city, Pompeii was buried under meters of ash and pumice by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Not far from the coast of the Gulf of Naples, the ruins of this archaeological site can be freely explored by visitors.
