A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Robben Island Museum served as a political activists' prison during the apartheid era.
Experience a hassle-free half-day adventure with our package, seamlessly blending museum exploration. After heading to the meeting point, go straight to the boarding area to take a shared boat to Robben Island Museum where you will be met by a former political prisoner who will conduct the tour of the Island. The entire tour lasts +-4 hours which. For part of the tour, you will be transported around the island by bus, before you visit the prison cell of Nelson Mandela and take the long walk to freedom.
Please be aware that you will be traveling with other people on the boat trip, guided bus, and land tour; this is not a private tour. You will still have to wait in line to board the ferry boat, but you will avoid the ticketing line. Hotel pickup and drop-off are not included in this tour. The Nelson Mandela Gateway to Robben Island is where the tour begins and ends.
Visit the man-made facilities. Get to see where isolate South African leaders, including Nelson Mandela, David Stuurman, a Khoikhoi leader who successfully escaped from the Island. Jacob Zuma and Kgalema Motlanthe.
