Experience a relaxed bike ride along the Rhine through Switzerland, France, and Germany on a balmy summer evening – a special tri-border experience in just 60 minutes!
The round trip starts in Switzerland, in the green St. Johann Park in Basel, and leads down the Rhine past the impressive Novartis campus to the French border. From there, we cycle on French soil along the Quai du Rhin through charming St. Louis, past the idyllic Canal de Huningue, and then cross the elegant Dreiländerbrücke – the longest cantilevered pedestrian and cycle bridge in Europe, which takes us to Germany.
Once in Weil am Rhein, we continue across the border back into Switzerland, where we cycle through the Kleinhünigen harbor area – an exciting place undergoing a transformation between industry, logistics, and urban development. Shortly afterwards, we reach the symbolic border triangle where Switzerland, Germany, and France meet.
On the way back, we follow the Rhine upstream and pass the Holzpark Klybeck, a creative, urban open-air area with alternative cultural offerings. The tour ends with a real highlight: the ride over the Dreirosenbrücke, which offers a spectacular view over the Rhine and into all three countries – perfect for ending the evening with a special view.
The bike tour covers about 10 kilometers and is mostly flat. It's a special experience for locals, visitors, or groups who want to discover the Basel region from a new, cross-border perspective.

• For citizens of the EU and EFTA, a valid identity card or passport is sufficient. • Participants from countries such as the USA, Canada, the United Kingdom, or Australia require a valid passport. For tourist stays of up to 90 days, a visa is not usually required. • For citizens of other countries outside Europe, a Schengen visa may be required.
Opposite the St. Johanns-Tor tram stop at the entrance to the park. Your guide will be wearing a T-shirt with the Basel Bike Adventures logo. The meeting point is easily reached by tram line 11 towards Saint-Louis Grenze. Get on at Basel SBB station, Barfüsserplatz or Marktplatz and travel to the St. Johanns-Tor stop.
