From Tirana/Durres: Ardenica, Apollonia, and Berat Day Trip

Explore the Ardenica Monastery, the ancient ruins of Apollonia, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Berat on a day trip from Tirana.
Begin your journey with a visit to the 13th-century Ardenica Monastery, perched on a hilltop with breathtaking views of the Myzeqe plains. Explore the Church of St. Mary, adorned with stunning frescoes and old icons, and wander through the peaceful courtyard and library. Wander through the Mangalem Quarter, with its Ottoman houses stacked on the hillside, and cross the Gorica Bridge for a classic panorama.

In the Gorica Quarter, discover quieter, traditional houses and the lead mosque. Visit the medieval center to learn about 19th-century life. Don’t miss the chance to try local dishes like “tave kosi” lamb and yogurt or “pula me përshesh” chicken at a restaurant with castle views.
