Buenos Aires has a Comic Strip Walk. To get this history and seing more than cartoons figures, we'll walk it and understand it from San Telmo to Monserrat. Let's discover what's behind the Comics.
Few places in the world recognize the value of their comic book artists with such passion. In Argentina, Buenos Aires has designed the Comics Walk or «Paseo de la Historieta», a dedicated path where you will find the main characters that defined local childhoods and transcended borders, such as the world-famous Mafalda and her group of friends.
The journey begins in the historic heart of San Telmo and winds its way to the traditional neighborhood of Monserrat. As we walk for three hours, you will learn how each artist conveyed clever, coded messages through their drawings, using humor to question society and politics in a way only Argentine creators can. We will finish our walk at Plaza Perón, surrounded by the city's iconic architecture.
To help you visualize the evolution of these characters, I will show you original books and magazines at each stop, comparing the physical sculptures with their classic paper versions. This allows you to appreciate the details of the art style while we continue our flow through the city streets.
We will take a break halfway through the tour to hydrate and relax. During this stop, you will have the opportunity to personally browse the collection of comics and magazines at your own pace. It is the perfect moment to dive into the stories, enjoy a coffee or water, and share anecdotes before we recharge our energy to explore the final stretch of the walk. This is a journey through art, history, and the social identity of Buenos Aires.

We will end in a central location perfect for continuing your day, as you'll be just two blocks away from the modern Puerto Madero docks and only a short walk from the iconic Plaza de Mayo and Casa Rosada.

Duration: The tour usually takes between 2.5 and 3 hours depending on the group size and the pace of our conversation and photo stops.
Mafalda Sculpture Photo: A long queue usually forms at the Mafalda site. If you wish to take a photo with her, please arrive at least 30 minutes before the tour starts to queue on your own.
Schedule: Once the tour begins, we will not wait in the Mafalda queue to ensure we stay on schedule for the rest of the walk.
Sculptures availability: Please note that the "Paseo de la Historieta" is a public space. Some sculptures may be temporarily removed by the city for maintenance or restoration.
Guide Presence: The guide will arrive at the meeting point 10 to 15 minutes before the start time. Please note the guide does not manage the queue or take photos at this spot.
Activity Level: This is a 100% outdoor walking tour; we do not enter any buildings.
The meeting point is at the corner of Chile and Defensa streets in San Telmo, right where the Mafalda sculpture is located. Your guide will be standing near the sculpture (not in the photo queue) wearing a light blue polo shirt, an orange beret, and a blue backpack with orange details.
