4 Days Simien mountains itinerary.
Day 1: Gondar – Debark – Sankaber (3,200m)

Drive: Start your journey with a 3-hour drive (100 km) from Gondar to Debark, the gateway to Simien Mountains National Park.

Park Registration & Permits: Stop at the park headquarters in Debark to arrange entrance fees, scouts, and guides.

Trek Start: A short drive (about 1 hour) takes you to Buyit Ras (3,250m), where the trek begins.

Hiking Distance: 10 km (4-5 hours)
Terrain: Moderate trails with rolling hills and stunning views of deep gorges.
Wildlife: Spot large troops of Gelada baboons grazing on the grasslands.

Camp: Set up at Sankaber campsite (3,200m), offering panoramic views of the cliffs.

Day 2: Sankaber – Geech Camp (3,600m)
Hiking Distance: 12 km (6-7 hours)

Highlights: • Jinbar Waterfall: One of the highest waterfalls in Ethiopia, plunging into the vast valley below.

Return Journey: Descend to Chenek, where a 4x4 vehicle will take you back to Debark and then drive to Gondar.
