A shared three day tour from San Pedro de Atacama to the Salar de Uyuni, ending in Uyuni, exploring the fascinating landscapes and natural wonders along the way.
Day 1:
We will pick you up from your accommodation and board a minibus from San Pedro de Atacama, bound for the border between Chile and Bolivia. After completing border formalities, we will transfer to a 4x4 vehicle that can accommodate up to six people. During this first day, we will explore highlights of the Bolivian altiplano, such as Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde, located at the foot of the imposing Licancabur Volcano. We will continue our tour visiting the Salvador Dali Desert and the Polques Hot Springs, where you will have time to enjoy a relaxing bath. In addition, we will explore the Sol de Mañana Geysers, where you can witness impressive intermittent water fountains emerging at high temperatures. Finally, we will head to Laguna Colorada, an important nesting centre for more than 30,000 flamingos. We will spend the night in a cosy hostel in Villamar.
Day 2:
After enjoying breakfast, we will head towards Tomás Lakha, where you will have the opportunity to admire ancient pre-Inca cave paintings. Then, we will explore Italia Perdida, a place where the volcanic rock has taken on the appearance of an abandoned city. We will continue our journey to the Vinto and Catal lagoons, where you can hike and observe the varied fauna of the Bolivian Altiplano. Afterwards, we will explore the Anaconda Canyon and Sora Canyon, before heading back to the Chiguana Salt Flat and finally arriving at Colcha K, where we will spend our second night's accommodation.
Day 3:
Early in the morning, we will head to the salt flat, as usual on the third day of the 4-day tour of the Salar de Uyuni. We will enjoy the spectacle of sunrise over the vast white blanket of salt before heading to Incahuasi Island. Here, we will have the opportunity to take a walk through this limestone rock formation that is home to huge cacti, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the salt flat. Afterwards, we will explore the Salt Museum before leaving the salt flat through the picturesque village of Colchani, where we will stop to purchase some handicrafts. We will continue our journey passing through the famous train cemetery to capture some photographs before returning to Uyuni, where we will conclude our tour.
