Mostar: Valley of Peace Tour, Olive Tasting & Meal

Explore the Valley of Peace on a guided tour. Visit the Biblical Garden, the Upper Room of Pentecost, and the old Sisters' cemetery, and enjoy an olive oil tasting with local products.
Begin your experience at Paxa House, where you will be welcomed with homemade liqueurs in various flavors. Then, visit the old monastic section, including the art gallery and historical museum.

Next, explore the Olive Grove of Hope, planted in February 2025 during the extraordinary event “Unity in Diversity – Planting the Olive Grove of Hope.” People from different religious backgrounds participated in this gathering, demonstrating how shared initiatives can serve as a bridge that connects communities. Among the different varieties planted were 33 white-fruited Leucocarpa olive trees.

Continue through the Biblical Garden, where plants mentioned in the Bible are grown. Walk along the Path of the Olive Grove of Hope, where 14 stone slabs representing the Stations of the Cross feature reflective texts written by the late Sister Milka Mlakić. Each text is presented as a question, inviting visitors to pause and find their own answer.

The path, shaded by oak trees, leads to the hidden Upper Room of Pentecost, formed by 12 stone slabs symbolizing the 12 apostles, the 12 tribes of Israel, and the 12 fruits of the Holy Spirit.

Visit the old Sisters’ cemetery before continuing through the Olive Grove of Faith, home to approximately 3,300 olive trees. Learn about olive cultivation, olive oil production, and the different varieties grown at Paxa Dola. Along the way, enjoy beautiful views of the Velež and Prenj mountains, whose peaks are often covered with a “cap” of snow.

In the olive grove, take part in a guided tasting of four PAXA extra virgin olive oils: Pendolino, Oblica, Istrian Bjelica, and a multi-varietal blend. Discover the differences in fruitiness, bitterness, and pungency among the varieties.

The oils are paired with traditional local specialties, including cheese, prosciutto or dried beef, wine, homemade uštipci, and traditional monastic pastries. The experience also includes one traditional Herzegovinian dish selected by the group and agreed upon in advance, followed by a sweet dessert.

At the end of the experience, each guest receives a gift.
