The tour begins in Sarajevo at Trg Prve policijske brigade, located directly across from the City Hall (Vijećnica). Guests are picked up here by vehicle and transferred to Trebević, allowing for a comfortable and efficient start to the hiking experience. During the short drive, the city gradually gives way to forested mountain scenery.
The hike starts at approximately 1,050 meters above sea level, in the early evening when temperatures are cooler and the atmosphere is calm. From the starting point, the trail follows forest paths that gently climb through pine-covered slopes. As the sun begins to set, warm colors spread across the surrounding mountains, creating scenic viewpoints along the route and the first panoramic glimpses of Sarajevo below.
As night approaches, the city lights slowly appear, forming a striking contrast between the quiet mountain environment and the vibrant city beneath. Headlamps are provided to ensure safe and comfortable hiking after dark, allowing guests to continue confidently along well-marked trails.
The ascent continues toward the summit of Mount Trebević at 1,629 meters, reaching a total elevation gain of nearly 580 meters. Upon reaching the summit, there is time to rest, take photos, and enjoy wide nighttime views over Sarajevo and the surrounding landscape. This peaceful moment at the top is often the highlight of the tour.
The descent follows a scenic return trail, offering new perspectives of the forest and the illuminated city below. Walking steadily downhill under the night sky, guests experience the calm and quiet atmosphere of Trebević after dark.
