Sarajevo: Mountain Igman and Tunnel of Hope Guided Tour

Discover the Tunnel of Hope and Mountain Igman on a guided tour from Sarajevo. Learn about the Siege of Sarajevo, visit key locations, and hear stories of courage.
Begin with a visit to the Tunnel of Hope Museum, where you’ll see the underground passage that connected besieged Sarajevo with the free territory outside the city. Walk through the preserved section of the tunnel and hear firsthand stories of how food, medicine, fuel, humanitarian aid, and even entire military units passed beneath the airport runway.

The journey then continues to Mountain Igman, often called the “Mountain of Survival.” Explore the area that served as Sarajevo’s vital connection to the outside world and learn about the famous Igman Route used to transport supplies and people during the war.

Visit key locations, hear stories of courage and sacrifice, and gain a deeper understanding of how geography played a crucial role in the defense and survival of Sarajevo.
