We will travel to one of the biggest volcanoes of Costa Rica and Central America, the Volcan Barva in the province of Heredia, into the Braulio Carrillo National Park.
This great dormant volcano (2906 m a.s.l.) awaits you, with fresh air, incredible views and a great hike that will begin about 4 km from the entrance of the National Park in the town of Sacramento in the mountains of Barva de Heredia. You will feel a little like the peasant lifestyle of this rural area surrounded by pastures and impressive views as you walk along the road with steep sections to the entrance of the national park. In the park you can feel part of the nature that surrounds you, along the trails that will take us to one of the volcano's craters lagoon, impressive viewpoints and the Copey lagoon.
With cold areas near the crater and some swampy and mysterious ones like Laguna Copey passing through majestic views towards the Caribbean slope on a clear day, this is a place that lovers of mountain walks should visit.
