Begin with a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to Everest. As you trek through picturesque villages and lush forests, the trail gradually ascends, offering tantalizing glimpses of snow-capped peaks.

The itinerary includes the important days of acclimatization in Namche Bazaar and Dingboche, where you will allow your body to adjust to the high altitude. During acclimatization, you can explore local markets, visit monasteries, and stay among the unique Sherpa people who call this harsh mountain environment their home.

As you go higher, the landscape transforms dramatically where forests will give way to rocky terrain, and glacial valleys will loom ever closer starting down from the mighty Himalayan giants. The trek takes you through iconic locations like Tengboche, home to a famous Buddhist monastery, and Dingboche, Syangboche, and Lobuche.

The important section of this trek is reaching Everest Base Camp, where you will stand at the foot of the world’s highest mountain and witness the hustle-bustle of global teams preparing for their ascents. You will feel the raw energy of this legendary location at the height of the world.

Hike to the vantage point of Kalapatthar, where you will be rewarded with panoramic views of Everest and surrounding peaks. This view is sure to be etched in your memory, and remain with you for the rest of your life — and in the least it will be a story you will tell your grandchildren one day with pride.

As you trek further away from the main Everest trail, head towards Island Peak. At 6,165 meters, this peak is a perfect introduction to climbing in the Himalayas. The climb to the summit is challenging for even the fittest trekkers, but you can accomplish it with the help of basic mountaineering skills involving the use of crampons, ice-axes, ice-picks, and fixed ropes — and of course, focus and determination.

The summit will reward you with stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Nuptse; and before you know it, you will begin the descent and head on the journey back to Kathmandu. First you will return to Namche Bazaar and on to Lukla where you will reflect on the incredible achievements you gained in the past two weeks.
