描述

Discover Cotopaxi National Park on a day trip from Quito. Hike around Limpiopungo Lagoon, ride a horse through the park, and enjoy a scenic drive along the Avenue of the Volcanoes.
Begin your adventure with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Quito. Travel south along the Avenue of the Volcanoes, a scenic route surrounded by towering peaks.

Arrive at Cotopaxi National Park, home to the iconic Cotopaxi Volcano. Marvel at this active stratovolcano, known for its nearly perfect cone and snow-capped summit.

Continue to the Limpiopungo Lagoon, a high-altitude wetland at 3,800 meters above sea level. Walk along the trails and observe native wildlife, including Andean gulls, ducks, and wild horses. On clear days, enjoy the lagoon's reflection of the Cotopaxi Volcano.

Next, embark on a horseback riding adventure through the park. Ride through the páramo, a unique ecosystem of grasses and cushion plants, and experience the landscape like the legendary "chagras" or Andean cowboys.

Finally, relax as you are driven back to your accommodation in Quito.
