At a museum of local peasant architecture and culture, go inside old barn dwellings and chapels and take pictures with mills at the beautiful seacoast. The museum consists of several sectors, and so you don't get tired while walking, take a horse taxi or bicycle. This tour includes driving along the Tallinn seashore and visiting the open air museum, the most popular museum in summer. 

On the way to open air museum by comfortable car/ bus, you will pass by the American district, hippodrome and talk of what kept Tallinn from developing since 1850s. It will take you 15 minutes to get to the museum from city center. In the open air museum, you will learn about the Estonian rural mode of life and see types of villages and farms. The mission of the museum is to introduce a peasant mode of life, tell you of the traditions through peasant architecture, farming culture, real life stories and superstitions with local humor. Feel the heart of the national identity of this small but proud Estonian people and understand what word freedom means for the people.

During the walking tour, you will find a collection of 80 buildings: peasant farms, net sheds, school farm and chapel from the 18 to 20th-century. Look at the low reed roof of the barn dwellings, come inside through low doorway to see how the people lived, heated their homes, see where the cattle was held and weddings celebrated. The discipline was hard, but it always helped to survive in cold climate with restricted resources. In the summer, many celebrations, dancings and exhibitions were observed. Afterwards, you will have enough time for lunch in local tavern and for souvenirs. You will also be able to rent a horse carriage or bicycle.
