Experience two of Lapland’s most iconic winter highlights in one small-group adventure in Rovaniemi: Santa Claus Village and a husky sleigh ride through snowy landscapes.
Your day begins with pickup from accommodations and agreed pickup points in the Rovaniemi area. Travel with your guide to Santa Claus Village, where you’ll hear stories and local insights about this famous Arctic destination. Step across the marked Arctic Circle line, then enjoy the chance to meet Santa Claus in person. You’ll also visit Santa Claus’ Main Post Office to learn how letters and postcards are handled at this unique location. If you like, you can buy postcards and send them with an Arctic Circle postmark. Afterward, take time to explore more of the village and soak up its festive winter atmosphere.
Next, continue to a husky farm to meet these energetic Arctic dogs and learn about their care and daily life. Then it’s time for the highlight: an exciting husky sleigh ride through the winter landscape. The usual riding distance is around 2 km, but early in the season—especially in the first half of December—snow conditions may require a shorter ride of approximately 500 m. The final distance always depends on snow and safety conditions on the day.
To keep you comfortable, thermal overalls and winter boots are provided for the duration of the experience. Your guide will also take digital photographs throughout the tour, so you can focus on enjoying the moment. At the end of the excursion, return transportation to your original pickup point in the Rovaniemi area is included.
